Staff and pupils at Monkstown Community School are celebrating the school’s best ever set of examination results.

Some 95 per cent of pupils achieved an A* to C grade at A Level, while at GCSE over 50 per cent of pupils secured five or more A* to C grades.

“Our Year 12 pupils have worked extremely hard in their GCSE studies to achieve these excellent results, meeting their potential and in some cases exceeding their own expectations,” said principal Nigel Pell-Ilderton.

“We join with them in celebrating their achievements, which are due to their commitment and the support of staff and parents. We look forward to welcoming many of our pupils back into sixth form and wish all of them every success in the future.

“Congratulations are also due to our departing sixth form for their outstanding achievement at A Level.”

Mr Pell-Ilderton added: “We are proud of the achievements of all our pupils. The governors and I would like to thank parents, staff and students for a great year.”
