A special event is being organised to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the introduction of integrated education in Glengormley.
Glengormley Integrated Primary School, which has flourished since switching to integrated status in 2003/04, is planning to mark the milestone with a dinner dance at the Linen Suite, Mossley Mill on March 29.
The school’s Board of Governors are currently finalising plans for the event and are on the look-out for potential sponsors to help off-set costs.
“The school was transformed in 2003/04, with around 100 pupils, and has since grown to 300 in this 2013/14 10th anniversary year,” explained principal Nigel Arnold.
“In preparation for this celebration, the Governors are keen to secure support and some corporate sponsorship from local, regional and national businesses and organisations who believe in integration as part of the solution for Northern Ireland, and wish to help support our celebratory event marking our progress here in the Newtownabbey area.”
The event, for those who have been part of the GIPS community over the past 10 years, will take the form of a drinks reception, followed by a three-course dinner, after dinner speeches and a disco.
The school is offering businesses a variety of sponsorship, advertising and marketing opportunities in connection with the anniversary celebration, including the chance to distribute corporate marketing materials on the night.
