Woman dragged from car during Rathcoole hijacking

Police investigating a hijacking in the Rathcoole estate during which a woman was dragged from her car have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Shortly before 10pm on Sunday, April 13, the woman was sat behind the wheel of a black Mitsubishi Colt car, which was parked in Innis Walk, when she was approached by two men. One of the men opened the driver’s door and dragged her out of the vehicle.

They men made off in the car, which was found burnt out at Camross Park a short time later.

The woman wasn’t hurt but was left badly shaken.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at Newtownabbey Station on 101, or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
