A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER AT THE WHITE HOUSE

IT'S not every day you get the chance to volunteer to be a part of history.

But the White House Preservation Trust is offering local people the chance to do just that as part of the restoration of the historic White House Bawn.

The Trust will have a number of volunteer opportunities during the restoration period.

You could help by giving tours of the archaeological dig, delivering posters and newsletters, or by helping out with the newly opened education centre.

There is a part for everyone to play and if you have recently retired and are looking for something to fill your spare time then this could just be the experience you have been looking for. You will also be helping make history, as the project will be helping to restore Newtownabbey's oldest building.

The Trust is keen to hear from anyone who feels they can play their part.

Vikki Dundas Vice Chairman of the Trust and one of the three Trustees responsible for volunteers commented: "This is such an exciting opportunity, we would like to open this volunteer experience to a wider circle of people, It won't be all work, we also have fun along the way and many of the volunteers already helping us have developed a social network, so why not join with us, we can use as little or as much time as you have available".

For further details on how to become part of this exciting volunteer opportunity visit the Trust's web site www.thewhitehouseni.com and click on the volunteers page. You will be able to download a copy of the volunteer policy and request further details. Alternatively, email volunteers@thewhitehouseni.com, or contact Vikki direct on 028 9087 9872.
