Cash boost for Helping Hands project

HELPING Hands, a project run by Carnmoney Presbyterian Church that provides food hampers to those in need, via the local Social Services office, has just received a £750 Community Award from Progressive Building Society.

The money will go towards new shelving to aid the storage of provisions donated for the weekly hampers.

Nine organisations, all committed to working for the benefit of their local communities, have received support totalling 6,933 in this, the eighteenth round of Progressive's Community Award Scheme.

Members of the Society who wish to nominate a community group for consideration for a future award should contact their local branch of Progressive Building Society. The Community Awards are issued twice a year.
