Horatio’s rise from prickly beginnings to internet star

A GREEN-haired hedgehog has sent the internet into a frenzy with tales of his adventures in Newtownabbey.
Horatio Whitla, from the Distressed Hedgehog Society Shop (DHSS), was a gift to a Newtownabbey couple from their niece.
Since he took up with his new family, the self-styled growbag has joined the internet social networking site Facebook to tell the world of his adventures and meet up with other like-minded individuals from across the world.
Speaking exclusively to the Times Horatio said: “I am not sure what age I am but I arrived in Newtownabbey at Christmas. I was given as a present to Bert and Nora by their niece. I gave them their names as it is easier than referring to them as male human and female human.
“I was bald when I came here but Bert has been pouring water over me each morning and now I have a lovely head of hair - only problem is, it’s green.”
