Man arrested in murder probe

A man arrested in England by detectives investigating two murders in Newtownabbey over a decade ago was released without charge.
Gary Thomas Moore, a Catholic builder, was killed on 6 December 2000 and Gavin Brett, a Protestant student at Glengormley High School was shot dead on 29 July 2001.
PSNI detectives, assisted by officers from West Midlands Police, investigating the murders, arrested a 32-year-old man on Wednesday morning (March 13). He was released unconditionally the same day.
Gary Moore (30) from Limavady, was shot as he worked on a building site in the Monkstown housing estate.
Gavin Brett, 18, was shot dead on the Hightown Road in Glengormley as he stood chatting to a group of Catholic and Protestant friends close to the entrance to St Enda’s GAA club.
His paramedic father Michael tried desperately to resuscitate his son at the scene.
