Village gets back its convenience store and post office
A NEW SPAR shop has opened in Whiteabbey following the major fire which destroyed the row of village shops in May.
The SPAR began trading out of temporary premises at 604 Shore Road on Thursday, August 26.
A spokesperson for Henderson Group said: "Henderson's have worked extremely hard to get a temporary facility up and running from the premises across the road of the original SPAR store in Whiteabbey village.
"We hope to open the Post Office from these premises at the end of September."
Post Office Ltd meanwhile, has said it is delighted to announce that Whiteabbey Post Office branch will re-open on Tuesday, September 28.
The branch, which was located within the original SPAR convenience store, has been closed since May 22, following the fire.
