Women gather for World Day of Prayer

REPRESENTATIVES from 10 local churches took part in two special cross-community services on Friday (March 5) to mark Women's World Day of Prayer.

The interdenominational services, held at Glengormley Methodist Church in the morning and St Mary's on the Hill Church in the evening, were prepared by the Christian women of Cameroon and followed the theme 'Let Everything that has Breath Praise God'.

Led by Mrs Claudette Kilpatrick, wife of Rev Mervyn Kilpatrick, the morning service featured singing from the children of St Mary's on the Hill Primary School, while the evening service featured guest speaker Sister Mary Jo Corcoran and readings and songs from members of the 10 local churches.

The two services gave participants the opportunity to worship together and renew friendships.
