Look after your eyes and ears with an ‘MOT’

Local residents are being urged to have their hearing and eyesight checked, as experts predict the number of people who will begin to lose these vital senses is set to soar by 2030.

With Deaf Awareness Week being held in May and National Diabetes Week in June, Specsavers in Newtownabbey is encouraging the community in the local area to pay more attention to both their eyes and ears by taking a sight and hearing ‘health MOT’ during May.

Highlighting the importance of having regular sight and hearing tests, Tony McGinn, Specsavers Abbeycentre store director, said: “There is no reason why our quality of life should suffer as we age. We’ve never been in a better position to monitor and treat eye and ear health.”
