STAFF at Flamingo Bingo in Glengormley kicked off their new year-long charity partnership by getting involved in Macmillan Cancer’s flagship event - the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The Tramways bingo hall opened its doors on Friday, September 28 to customers, not only for the usual game of bingo but also for a cuppa.
Manager Mary Donnelly said: “We couldn’t be happier with our charity choice and we are endeavouring to raise maximum funds for this local charity. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer and therefore Macmillan seemed an obvious choice.
“Whilst this is a very serious cause and we hope to raise serious money, we plan to have some fun while raising these vital funds. Our staff and customers will be getting involved in an array of activities from coffee mornings to charity Pink Flyer Days.”
Macmillan Cancer Support provides support to people that are living with cancer. In Northern Ireland there are 55,000 people living with cancer. Services range from medical, practical, emotional and financial support, not only for patients but for the entire family.
Lisa McGrogan, Fundraising Manager for the charity said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Flamingo Bingo, Glengormley. As we receive limited government support, we rely heavily on the support of local businesses to sustain our services and are extremely grateful for this support.”
