Staff and pupils at Mallusk Community Playgroup celebrated the official opening of their new accommodation in the grounds of the Academy Sports Club recently.
The playgroup was forced to move out of the nearby Methodist Church two years ago following a number of flooding incidents, and took up temporary residence at the War Memorial Orange Hall in Templepatrick.
Julie Vauls, playgroup leader, said that staff and children were “absolutely delighted” to make the move into their new purpose-built accommodation at the Academy Club.
The playgroup, which has been going for seven years, is full to capacity, with 30 children on its register and others on a waiting list to get in.
Looking to the future, playgroup staff are now setting their sights on raising money for new flooring and to create a garden at the rear of the building.
