Masterplan group to set out priorities for future development of Doagh

THE group tasked with taking forward the ambitious Doagh Village Masterplan initiative was due to meet this week to discuss proposals for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the area over the next 5 - 15 years.

Members of the masterplan implementation group, made up of local political, business and community representatives, were scheduled to get together on Wednesday (July 20) to prioritise which aspects of the recently launched document they hope to bring to fruition in the short-term, and work out how to source funding for those longer-term projects which require significant financial backing.

The masterplan, which was commissioned by GROW South Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, is a strategic vision for the development of the village and suggests several key initiatives aimed at bringing significant social, environmental and economic benefits to the area and its growing population.
