Residents of Merville Garden Village took part in a successful tidy-up of the estate on Saturday, March 10. The initiative was a joint endeavour by Merville Residents’ Association and Tidy Northern Ireland.

Around 20 local people turned out to lend a hand and rid the area of all variety of refuse, filling an incredible 35 bags in the process.

Organiser of the clean-up, Dr Sally Liya of Merville Residents’ Association, said: “This undertaking has proved to be a very worthwhile experience and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who kindly participated.

“And I would like to give my sincere gratitude to the Tidy Northern Ireland organisation for its invaluable input. The Village and its leafy perimeters are looking spick and span as a result.”
