Mossley Mill was illuminated in gold on Saturday, September 28 in support of the ‘Light it up Gold’ campaign, which ran throughout the month of September to highlight children’s cancer by lighting up public buildings in a gold colour.

Giving his backing to the campaign, Mayor Fraser Agnew met with local parent Helen Skelly to show his support for raising awareness about children’s cancer.

The Light it up Gold group is comprised of parents of children affected by a variety of cancers and is part of a global campaign which highlights its cause by lighting up high profile landmarks such as Niagara Falls, The Prudential Tower in Boston and the CN Tower in Toronto in gold light.

Local landmarks lit up gold during September included Belfast City Hall.
