A local sports club opened up its doors to the public for a charity coffee morning recently.

Monkstown Boxing Club Young Women’s Group held the fundraising event for Alzheimer’s Society on Saturday, June 18.

The successful event raised £350 for the worthy cause.

Fionnuala Graham from Alzheimer’s Society in Newtownabbey said: “We are extremely grateful to Monkstown Boxing Club’s Young Women’s group and all the time and energy they put into this coffee morning for Alzheimer’s Society. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals like Monkstown Boxing Club to help us support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow.”
