The Sarah’s Fight fundraiser held at Mossley Hockey Club on Friday, June 20 in support of Carnmoney girl Sarah Lynas raised the amazing total of £3,750.

The money will help pay for accommodation in Dublin for 24-year-old Sarah’s family as she undergoes a stem cell transplant at St James’s Hospital in a bid to cure her Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The former Ballyclare High School pupil has been diagnosed with cancer three times in the past five years.

Some of the proceeds (£1,000) from the well-supported event will be donated to CLIC Sargent, which provides help and support to children and young people living with cancer.

The organisers of the event, a group of Sarah’s friends and family, thanked everyone who helped make the fundraiser such a great success, and all the local businesses that supported the event by donating raffle prizes.
