Women’s Aid in Newtownabbey has been presented with a mosaic artwork for their office in Glengormley.

The artwork, originally from Women’s Aid in Carrickfergus, was presented at an event held at the charity’s base on Carnmoney Road.

Grace McGurk, Community Resettlement Worker, said: “We are delighted to accept this beautiful artwork and for what it signifies; an abused woman’s journey through her life towards a life free from domestic abuse. One in four women will suffer domestic violence in their lifetime, be it physical, sexual, emotional, psychological or financial.

“Anyone living with abuse is not to blame for the abuse, nor are they on their own as support is available from a variety of agencies.”

Women’s Aid provides information and support to those living with abuse.
