New Mayor and committee heads elected at council AGM

Newtownabbey Borough Council elected Alderman Victor Robinson as the new Mayor at the Council AGM held in Mossley Mill civic headquarters on Wednesday, June 6.

Alderman Robinson is a Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) member for Macedon District Electoral Area (DEA) and a former Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

The new Deputy Mayor is Alderman Fraser Agnew, a Unionist member for University DEA and a former Mayor.

The following Chairs and Vice Chairs were also elected:

Planning and Consultation Committee - Chairman: Alderman Paul Girvan, Vice Chairman: Alderman John Blair;

Environment Committee - Chairman: Alderman Billy DeCourcy, Vice Chairman: Councillor John Scott;

Leisure Committee - Chairman: Councillor Pat McCudden, Vice Chairman: Councillor Mandy Girvan;

Development Committee - Chairman: Councillor Robert Hill, Vice Chairman: Councillor Pamela Barr;

Policy and Governance Committee - Chairman: Councillor Thomas Hogg, Vice Chairman: Alderman Billy Ball;

Audit Committee - Chairman: Councillor Noreen McClelland, Vice Chairman: Councillor Billy Webb.
