Work is due to commence on the new play area at Rush Park, with the contractor starting on site during the week commencing July 23.

The £75,000 investment will provide a better facility in the centre of Rush Park. Local residents will receive a letter from Newtownabbey Borough Council advising them that work is due to begin. Weather permitting, the new play area could be completed by the end of August.

In anticipation of the exciting new play area, the council will host two action- packed ‘Play Days’. The events will be held on Saturday, July 21 and Saturday, August 18 and will be free of charge.

So why not get into the summer spirit and join in the fun? Lots of activities will be on offer to keep all ages entertained including sports, arts and crafts, face painting and bouncy castles.
