Ford welcomes some movement on Ballyclare relief road

The Alliance leader said: “We had a constructive chat about the issue of the relief road in particular. Given the expanding nature of Ballyclare there is clearly a need to develop a road to redirect traffic away from an already over congested area. It is clear The Neptune Group have an ambition to provide this road connecting from the Rashee Road to the Templepatrick Road.

“Whilst it is excellent news that a private organisation have agreed to take this issue forward it is no guarantee of success on the matter as there is a necessity to find some support and funding from other bodies. Therefore I will be assisting them in speaking to a number of organisations that may be interested in investing in this project in an effort to move it forward.

“I will, as always, keep residents updated on the issue as it progresses.”
