Jordanstown burglary: Heartless thief targets pensioner

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 80s was the victim of a distraction burglary at her home in the Sycamore area of Jordanstown on Tuesday, August 16.

A police spokesperson said: “A man called to the house at around 10am and asked if he could borrow a watering can. While the victim went to search for the item, the male, described as being between 5ft 9 and 5ft 10, aged between 40 and 50 and speaking in a local accent, entered the house and stole a black two strapped handbag containing a purse with several bank cards and a sum of money.”
