Detectives have issued an appeal for information following an attempted cash-in-transit robbery outside business premises in the Mallusk Road area on Thursday morning (May 15).
Shortly after 10am it was reported that two males, one carrying a knife, approached a security guard and attempted to steal a cash box. The guard locked himself in the van and the two males made off empty handed. They made off in a silver coloured car which was being driven by another male.
The security guard was not injured in the incident.
Investigating officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information to contact CID at Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number, 101.
