Newtownabbey Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) held a public meeting for P6 and P7 primary school parents on March 24.

The event, which took place at Fairview Primary School, provided important information to parents in supporting their child as they prepare to move on safely from primary school to a new school.

Topics discussed on the night included travelling safely to and from school and information on safe use of social media.

Speaking at the event, PCSP Chair Alderman John Blair commented,: “The meeting covered a range of topics that parents often seek some guidance around as their child moves on from primary school.

“Speakers on the night included representatives from Translink, ONUS, and the PSNI who were able to provide parents with a range of information and answer questions.”

PCSP Project Officer Debbie Taylor added, “A range of guidance materials were also made available to parents on the evening covering topics such bullying, internet safety, and a young person’s guide to safety and the law.”
