THERE was no change on the committee at Glengormley Townswomen’s Guild’s recent Annual General Meeting.
Chairman Lorna Mills thanked members for their faithful attendance and the committee for their ongoing commitment to improving the Guild. She also welcomed the new members who have quickly become involved in the monthly activities.
In addition to a very successful Bring and Buy Sale, members were also given an illustrated talk on the voluntary work carried out by the Glengormley Ambulance and Rescue Unit within the local community and further afield.
The presentation was given by Beverly Coulter, a member of the Board of Trustees, who was accompanied by her 15-year-old son Steven, who is currently a cadet in the Unit.
Steven spoke about his experiences as a volunteer and gave a CPR demonstration before answering members’ questions.
The Guild presented Beverly and Steven with a donation towards the work of the Ambulance Unit.
The next meeting of the Guild will be held in Glengormley Presbyterian Church Hall on Tuesday, April 17 at 8pm.
Visitors and new members are welcome to attend.
