The public artwork known as the ‘Angel of Rathcoole’ is still in the care of the Housing Executive, it has been confirmed.
The sculpture was removed from its position above The Diamond during redevelopment work in 2003. But following calls for its return, steps were taken to have the ‘angel’ reinstated.
In October last year, two public meetings were held to discuss the possible return of the artwork to the estate.
It had been hoped that the sculpture could be erected on the wall of the Dunanney Centre, but that plan was shelved after concerns were raised in the local community.
