‘PAEDOPHILES COULD HACK PARK CCTV’

NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council has postponed plans to introduce new CCTV security cameras at Loughshore Park over fears that paedophiles could hack into the system and access images of playing children.

On Monday evening (March 21), members of the council’s Development Committee were asked to approve a spend of £18,000 to link new cameras at the popular Jordanstown park to the council’s existing CCTV monitoring system via a wireless connection.

However, DUP councillor Robert Hill (pictured) questioned the security offered by a wireless connection, claiming that paedophiles could hack the system and access the video footage.
