Pipe band members make move to Doagh

Ballyclare pipe band, the Major Sinclair Memorial, has made a move to a new home base in Doagh.

Practices will now take place in the Torrens Memorial Hall. Times are unchanged, with learner lessons on Tuesday nights at 7pm.

The band has thanked the Linfield Supporters Club in Ballyclare, which has been its home for the last seven years.

“Without the fantastic support and encouragement of the club it would be unlikely that the band would still be in existence. Mr Amos Boyd and his team have never failed to meet the band’s needs and it is not without a certain sadness that the band leaves its home. The band wishes Amos and the club well with their future plans,” a spokesperson said.

Band members were welcomed to their first practice in the new facility on January 7 by Shirley Orr of the Torrens Hall management committee.

A special cake was produced to mark the occasion.
