GLENGORMLEY Community Group members dug deep and planted daffodil bulbs in Lilian Bland Community Park to help raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care on October 8.

Young children and adults battled Saturday’s inclement weather to plant daffodils for next Spring.

As well as raising funds for the charity, the community group is working hard to promote the newly renamed park into a shared space for the whole community.

Group Chair Martine Andrews, said: “It was a fantastic day; the weather wasn’t great but everyone worked really hard.

“We managed to plant bulbs at each tree in the park and next Spring. hopefully, it will look really well - and we raised a few pound for Marie Curie. We are working on getting new picnic tables and a noticeboard in the park, along with new solar-powered lighting, which we hope will make the park a place for everyone.”
