A BALLYCLARE play park which has only been open a few months has been vandalised yet again.
Temporary fencing and a gate were damaged in the Saturday evening (March 10) attack at Sixmilewater River Play Park.
It is believed that this is the second time the council has had to make repairs to the £200,000 park since its opening in December last year.
Avondale Drive residents who live next to the park have claimed it has proved a magnet for anti-social behaviour ever since its opening.
Ballyclare councillor Paul Girvan condemned this latest attack on the facility.
He said: “This is an act of wanton destruction and I would appeal to anyone who may have information about this vandalism to contact the police.
“This is a fantastic facility, one that the everyone would use, and this attack does nothing but create unwanted disruption for the Ballyclare community.”
