Police in Ballyclare have issued an appeal for information following a suspicious approach to children in the Clareville area of the town on Friday, August 16.
It’s understood that at around 12.50pm a man who was walking through the Grange estate made an approach to three children.
Police have declined to release any further details about the incident or those involved, saying they can’t comment for “investigative reasons”.
Local councillor and member of the Policing and Community Safety Partnership, Alderman Paul Girvan, said he would be contacting senior police officers to discuss exactly what happened.
“I will be trying to find out more information regarding exactly what went on.
“There has been a strong police presence in the area since the incident was reported, so that should give people some reassurance,” he said.
Police have asked anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact them at Ballyclare Station on 0845 600 8000, or to call the Crimestoppers charity and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
