Ballyclare Primary School held a special Be Safe, Be Seen event last week to remind pupils about the importance of staying safe while walking or cycling to and from school.

The school urges families to leave the car behind, and actively encourages pupils to either walk or ride to school.

New bicycle racks were recently installed at the school, thanks to sponsorship from Asda, Antrim.

“Staff encouraged the pupils to think very carefully about how they can remain safe and seen throughout their journey, especially by motorists. It was pleasing to see nearly all pupils arriving in school in high visibility and reflective items of clothing,” a spokesperson said.
