ROSSTULLA School in Jordanstown received a significant funding boost this week from some big-hearted fundraisers.

Mr David McCrea, Chairman of Rathfern Rangers FC, presented a cheque for £1,800 to school Principal, Mrs Fiona Burke.

The money was raised by The Cloughfern Arms, Rathfern Rangers, Monkstown Jubilee Centre, the Green Baize Snooker Club in Scotland and several local shops.

Describing the amount raised as “a terrific achievement”, Mrs Burke commented: “Once again a big thank you to the local community for their continuous support.”

Meanwhile, The Cloughfern Arms’ involvement in the latest fundraising effort means that staff and customers at the Doagh Road public house have now raised more than £50,000 for good causes.

A spokesman for the business thanked everyone who contributed to collections over the years or took part in charity football matches and other fundraising initiatives that have helped The Cloughfern Arms support a number of good causes, including Rosstulla School, Whiteabbey Hospital, Help for Heroes and Lighthouse Children’s Home.
