Stewart Dickson (Alliance)

STEWART Dickson is the Alliance leader on Carrickfergus Borough Council, having held a seat in the Knockagh ward from 1977 to 1981 and 1985 to the present. He served as Mayor in 1992-93.

Stewart works as Arbitration Secretary at the Labour Relations Agency, is an active member of the NIPSA trade union and Greenisland Presbyterian Church. He serves as Captain of First Greenisland Boys’ Brigade, through which he runs a drug awareness course, and sits on the Boards of Governors of Carrickfergus Central and Silverstream Primary Schools.

In 1999 he was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship, which allowed him to travel to North America to study the means of support available to small businesses.
