HOME Bargains has offered a £20,000 reward for information about an armed robbery at its Newtownabbey store.
As an indicator of the retailer’s tough stance on crime it has pledged the huge bounty in a bid to bring the armed gang responsible for the crime to justice.
Three masked men, armed with a handgun and crowbars, raided the Longwood Road homeware store just before 9.30pm on Thursday, February 17. Extensive, high quality, CCTV footage of the incident was obtained, showing a group of three men forcing entry into the store, threatening managerial staff and demanding money before leaving through a rear exit of the store.
The first suspect was wearing a black top, black trousers and black shoes. The second was in a navy blue hooded waterproof jacket, blue jeans, white trainers and was armed with the handgun. The third suspect was wearing a black hooded waterproof jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and black boots. All three were wearing black balaclavas and black gloves.
The £20,000 reward will be given to anyone who comes forward with information that results in a successful prosecution.
Operations Director Joe Morris said: “Security at Home Bargains is an absolute priority and we strive to ensure the safety of all our staff and customers at all times.”
