Straid Young Farmers Club is holding a Dinner Dance and Prizeiving on Saturday, March 31 2012 at The Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus starting at 7.30pm.
The evening marks the 70th Anniversary of the club and tickets are still available.
For the past 70 years hundreds of young people have walked through the doors at Straid Orange Hall to meet together on Tuesday nights. The club is still going strong with almost 100 members on the books and members of the current Committee are now working hard to finalise all arrangements for March 31. The evening will be an opportunity to meet faces both old and new, and to share in what promises to be an excellent night of entertainment.
Former YFCU President and current North Antrim MLA, Robin Swann, will be guest speaker on the evening and there will also be the opportunity to hear what has been happening over the past year as the annual prize distribution is held.
In addition, the club are currently trying to source as many old photographs and any other memorabilia available for display on the night.
This promises to help the jog the memory of those past members who have been trying to forget their fashion faux pas of years gone by! In order to round off the evening in style, local group Harmony Dance will be playing and keeping the crowd entertained late into the night.
If you would like to attend and help support Straid YFC as it looks forward to another 70 years, do please contact either Elaine on 07856 587546 or Carolyn on 07742 259459 to purchase tickets at £25 per person.
If you cannot make it on the night but have some old photographs from Straid YFC, please contact Elaine or Carolyn and they will arrange to pick these up.
Members look forward to greeting everyone on March 31 at the Clarion, Carrickfergus.
