SDLP councillor Noreen McClelland has called for lessons to be learned and improvements to responses to changing weather patterns to be made following the recent heavy snow.
The Antim Line councillor said: “It has been a difficult time for families, many of whom feel isolated and residents right across Glengormley have been suffering because of these conditions.”
She added: “While all that can be done is being done it leaves us with a situation that we have been facing for a few years now, extreme weather conditions are becoming much more of a problem for us.
“We need a more robust strategy to deal with the problems faced each winter. The good will of neighbours has been yet again a predominant factor, it is good to know you can rely on your neighbour in such a difficult time but we need more planning and forward thinking to deal with these weather conditions.”
