RESIDENTS and business owners in Glengormley had to endure over five hours of disruption on Friday (July 8) after the Ballyclare Road was closed to traffic following a report of a suspicious vehicle in Glengormley Park.

The area was cordoned off before 11am until around 3pm while army bomb disposal experts examined the vehicle and carried out a controlled explosion.

Nothing was found in the silver Toyota car and it was taken away from the scene for forensic examination. Police said the car had been stolen from the Newry area.

It is believed that the vehicle had sat unlocked in the park for the past three weeks.
