THE Mayor, Alderman Paula Bradley held a ‘swishing’ evening on Tuesday, March 8, in Museum at The Mill to celebrate the centenary of International Women’s Day.

The ‘swishing’ or ‘clothes swapping’ was just one part of the fun evening.

Guests enjoyed hearing Colour and Image Consultant Geraldine Dean’s advice on styling and colours, and Roberta Murray shared her experience of using the services of a life coach.

The event also marked the first anniversary of the launch of the Women’s Aid Safe Place initiative.

Lindsey Harris from Women’s Aid reminded everyone about how important it was that employers provide a safe place for victims of domestic abuse to access support.

The event marked the first anniversary of the launch of safe places initiative in Newtownabbey and all local businesses were urged to think about joining the Safe Place scheme.
