THE tables were set, flowers in place, cake looking good enough to eat, lots of memorabilia around the place, ladies chatting - all in all there was a cosy atmosphere in the Templeton Hotel for the Templepatrick Women’s Institute 50th Anniversary Dinner held on Wednesday, February 22.
President Margaret Beattie welcomed all the special guests and members along, before grace was said by Wilma Fleming ahead of the meal.
Doris Carlisle, the founder of Templepatrick WI, Ethel Patterson, Federation Chairman, and President Margaret Beattie then cut the cake.
After the meal Mrs Jean Montgomery proposed a Royal Toast to the Queen in her 60th year on the throne. Roberta Stinson proposed a toast to the Federation, and Mrs Ethel Patterson replied on its behalf, bringing good wishes from that body.
