POLICE are seeking to trace two valuable paintings by the artist Charles McAuley that were stolen during a burglary in Ballyclare earlier this month.

One of the artworks is a painting of Cushendall Beach, while the other is a painting of Garron Point. It’s understood the framed landscapes are worth in excess of £5,000.

“The paintings were both gifts marking important family occasions, and like other people in a similar situation the owners are keen to have the items returned.

“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of the current whereabouts of the paintings or anyone who may have been offered these items for sale.

“The number to call is 0845 600 8000,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
