Thieves target Ballyclare nursery school

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary at a nursery school on the Rashee Road in the Ballyclare area.

The Times understands that the incident took place sometime between October 4 and October 11, but details have only been made public by the police.

Constable Cooke said: “It was reported that sometime between Tuesday, October 4 and Tuesday, October 11, entry was gained to the premises. A lawnmower, petrol strimmer, power hose and two petrol hedge shears were stolen from a shed on site.

“We are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident or anyone who may be offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact police at Newtownabbey Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 792 on 11/10/16. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
