A TOTAL of 20 businesses in the Newtownabbey and Antrim areas have received support through their local Enterprise Agency as part of the Tradelinks 2 programme.
Marlene Warwick of DKS Designer Kids in Ballyclare is one local business owner who has benefitted from the EU-funded initiative. She joined the programme in February 2012 and has received mentoring in ICT, Marketing and Finance from Mallusk Enterprise Park. The programme has allowed DKS to review and enhance its website, develop a social media marketing strategy and assist with setting up quarterly sales forecasts.
Esther Baird, Tradelinks 2 Regional Coordinator, commented: “The Tradelinks 2 programme, with the help of a network of business mentors and advisors, has assisted our client businesses to grow, expand and access new markets. In the relatively small market that this island offers us, helping small businesses move into, or increase cross-border export trading and co-operation is a natural progression which the Tradelinks 2 programme supports.”
