Glengormley traders have hit out at the violence that erupted in the town on Friday night.
A spokesman for Glengormley Traders’ Association incorporating the Glengormley Chamber of Commerce described the violence as “insane, unwanted and a threat to the trading community”.
He continued: “Any repeat of this degree of violence places a vale over the mood of the whole community and presents a very real fear to elderly residents who rely upon the local shops for their weekly provisions and there is a great sense of concern among traders.
“Traders are right to express concern after one shopper had her car wheeled out into the Carnmony Road and burned.
“This only makes people coming into Glengormley think twice and it does nothing to help.
“Those who have influence should ensure that this type of violence is called off before it happens again,” said the spokesman.
