TWO Newtownabbey men have been fined for littering offences committed in June last year.
At the Environment Committee meeting on Monday, April 8, councillors were informed that Scott Brown was given a £60 fine and ordered to pay court costs of £101 at a hearing in Belfast Laganside Magistrates’ Court on February 26.
Brown, of Glenkyle Gardens, was charged with dropping litter in the Farmley car park area in June last year. He did not appear in court.
Also fined was Craig Hill of Thorburn Road. He was found to have dropped litter in the Abbey Retail car park in June last year.
Hill, who did not appear in court, was fined £60 and ordered to pay costs of £101 in his absence.
Meanwhile, councillors were informed that during the period between February 24 and March 23 this year 27 fixed penalty notices were handed out for a variety of offences including littering, dog fouling, straying and having no dog licence.
