The Mayor, Alderman Victor Robinson hosted a ‘wheely’ good prizegiving ceremony at Mossley Mill to coincide with Bike Week which has been running from June 16 to 24 and been promoted across Northern Ireland by Travelwise NI.

Bike Week aims to highlight the benefits of cycling and encourage commuters, families, schools and companies to get on their bike.

Three local Primary 7 pupils attended the prizegiving ceremony at Mossley Mill following a bike safety event held last month as part of Bee Safe Week.

That event, co-ordinated by the PSNI, was attended by over 900 primary school pupils who all got the chance to enter a prize draw to win vouchers from Carnmoney Cycles. The top prize of a £150 voucher was won by Malek Hawela of Whiteabbey Primary School while runners up, Jessica Clayton of St Mary’s on the Hill Primary School and Joel Archbold of Carnmoney Primary School each won a £30 voucher.
