The Wildcat Cheerleaders from Newtownabbey are preparing to show their support for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice runners and walkers at the sixteen-mile point of the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon on Monday, May 6.

Stationed at Gideon’s Green, the local cheerleaders will give athletes an extra shout of encouragement by calling their names and spurring them on as they begin their final leg of the route.

The cheerleading group is made up of dancers and gymnasts, aged from five years old and upwards.

Taking time out of their busy schedule, the cheerleaders will be easily recognisable to runners as Hospice colours, purple and red, will be incorporated into their costumes.

To register to run for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, visit www.nihospice.org or call 028 9078 1836.
