STAFF and pupils at Ballyclare Primary School organised a highly successful school coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The pupils brought in home baking, tea and coffee and other treats along with some money to support the charity.
The coffee morning was well supported and raised £311 for Macmillan Cancer, which provides practical, medical and financial support to people with cancer.
Meanwhile, P2 pupils from the school recently paid a visit to Belfast Zoo during which they were encouraged to study the animals’ colours and patterns, movements, food habits and key features.
The children enjoyed seeing the various creatures, particularly the giraffes and elephants, and some of the pupils got the opportunity to handle a number of the smaller animals.
The trip was designed to complement the work the children have been doing in the classroom on the topic of ‘Animals’.
