Woman’s handbag stolen in cemetery

Police investigating the theft of a woman’s handbag in Ballyclare Cemetery at the weekend have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

According to the PSNI, the handbag was taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the cemetery at around 2.30pm - 2.45pm on Sunday, March 6.

Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information about the theft to contact them at Newtownabbey Station on the non-emergency number 101.

The incident comes just a few months after the council and police warned people visiting local cemeteries to be vigilant following thefts from vehicles at Carnmoney and Ballyclare cemeteries.
