Walkers invited to step out with new group

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, in partnership with Tesco Newtownabbey, have established a new walking group and are looking for members.

Commencing on Monday, August 8, the short weekly walks will take place each Monday at 10am from Tesco Newtownabbey and will take participants through the picturesque Valley Park.

Vicki Carson, Exercise Referral Leader with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, explains: “These free walks, which are led by a trained leader, are a great way for keeping active in the outdoors whilst meeting new people. At the end of each walk there is an opportunity to relax and have a chat with other members of the group as complimentary healthy refreshments will be provided at Tesco.

“The walks are suitable for all ages and abilities, from young mothers with babies to those who are retired and want to keep fit.”
